Cartomancy Candles are selective to your month and day of birth, which aligns with a specific card in a traditional deck of playing cards. A traditional deck of cards holds 52 cards, plus one joker (for 52 weeks of the year, plus the additional day from leap years), 4 suits (for the 4 seasons of a year and the 4 elements of nature) and each individual card is specific to the date that you were born.
Simply choose your birthdate and your customized Cartomancy Candle will include what card your birthday is associated with and a description of what this means either for you as a person or for your life.

CANDLE CARE
Following these tips will ensure you maximize the life of your candle, as well as, provide you with the cleanest and longest burn time:
- Before lighting, trim wick to 1/4 inch
- Keep lit for 3-4 hours at a time
- Do not leave burning candles unattended

All candles are made in small batches and handpoured in Elkin, North Carolina. Our proprietary wax blend is made with 100% natural soy and includes only the highest quality fragrance oils.
CARTOMANCY HISTORY & FOLKLORE
Knowledge of cartomancy came from an oral folk transmission totally independent of literacy which was ultimately a Gypsy folk tradition. Gypsies were a unique nomadic nation that migrated from India, through Romania, Hungary and Slovakia to the Czech Republic and Europe. They brought the ways of Indian mysticism and divination with them and traditional playing cards first appeared in written records around the 14th century in Europe. For centuries, these cards were used as a form of divination and fortune telling, with various methods and practices belonging to different cultures.
